Misleading Product Name [Posted on 2007-09-21]
I bought this battery for use on a Sony HDR-SR7 HD camcorder. The product name says "Adorama", "with Info", and "Replacement for the Sony NPFH-100", but those are misleading. What I received was actually a Power2000 brand, and it looks quite different from the picture. When I read "with Info" in the title, I expected it to be able to show its status on the camcorder's LCD screen. However, that's not the case. The SR7 actually says it can't work with this battery and shuts down in a few seconds.
The instruction is poorly written. For example, "Remark: Please take out of the battery if no use."
The instruction says on FH series Handicams you have to use the provided cable to connect the DC output of the battery and the DC input of the camcorder. On FP series Handicams it can be directly used without the cable. To charge the battery you have to use the Sony AC-L25A, AC-VQP10, or FP & FH series chargers. It didn't mention the BCTRP charger that I was going to buy. The battery cannot be charged when attached to the SR7.
Don't waste your money on it.
Good high-capacity battery for the price [Posted on 2008-04-04]
This is a replacement for the original Sony NPF-H100 battery that works in most Sony Digital or HD camcorders, including the new Sony HDR-CX7 with memory stick. Although the items says "Adorama" the battery is actually a CTA battery, as it is shown in the picture. I think Amazon got slightly confused when they posted this on their site. I have had the opportunity to test one of these with the Sony HDR-CX7 and it lasts, and lasts. You don't need any other battery. And for the price, this is a very good deal. It is a stable battery and will work with the Sony camcorders with no problems. You need to follow the instructions to install it, because it installs using a small connector cable that hooks into the camera's DC jack. After that, just aim and shoot!

Will this work with Sony camcorders. I ordered one about a year back from another company and when I put it on my Sony camcorder, I kept getting the message "Use InfoLithium Battery," and then the camcorder would shut off. I am hesitant to buy this, and will thus fork out the dough for the Sony brand name battery. I guess it's too good to be true, a $100 batter for $24? Oh, well, buyer beware. If this battery DOES work with Sony products and IS long-lasting, I would ask anyone who has a good experience to say so here. Thanks!
