Excellent Natural Remedy for Sinuses [Posted on 2008-09-18]
I was honestly skeptical about buying this product, but decided to go for it after reading some online reviews and being extremely desperate for quick relief. I originally bought this product when I was pregnant and was having some serious sinus problems. My doctor said to try this since I couldn't take any medications for my cold and stuffy head. I immediately loved it!! Just using it 10 minutes made me feel better as it loosened all my sinus pressure. I actually felt it working, and the extra benefit it that you get glowing skin as well. Its like you kill two birds with one stone. After reading some of the other reviews, I think I will try adding a couple drops of eucalyptus oil to see if that helps even more. If you are still skeptical about buying this product, just go for it, it's really worth it, and worth the inexpensive price.

This little product clears my sinuses every morning. I use my electric teapot to pour some hot water into it, hit the power button, and it starts steaming a minute or so thereafter. Three minutes of heavy breathing later, my sinuses are clear. I put a little bit of vicks vapor rub in it sometimes too.

This product is wonderful. It also really helped daughter with acne. Very relaxing. I'd recommend it to anyone.

The Conair MDF2R Facial Sauna With Timer is a nice product for steaming your face. The size is large enough for most faces, though this is a product that will most likely be used more by women than men. I purchased this as a gift for somebody. While they enjoyed it, it ended up being one of those items that gets infrequent use. After doing some testing on it myself, I found that there were some good things about it and some that could be improved.
PROS:
+ Very fair list price
+ Seems to work relatively well, depending on your needs
+ Nice compact size
+ Simple controls are intuitive to figure out
+ Decent amount of steam is produced quickly
+ Timer feature and auto-shut-off will be a pluses for some
+ Extra sinus attachment may be useful for some
+ 2 year warrantee is quite generous given the price
CONS:
- The face brush doesn't produce enough friction to really perform deep cleaning
- More heads on the brush would have also been nice
- The unit holds less water than most people will need for a session
- Difficult to position yourself for comfort and full coverage
- The edges of the bowl could have been better designed for comfort
This item works, but there are alternatives.
