Battery for Panasonic Digital Camera [Posted on 2005-09-18]
We ordered the PowerSmart DPS003 Li-ion battery pack as a spare/backup for our Panasonic DMZ-FC20 digital camera. We have used this rechargeble battery for nearly a month, alternating between the original Panasonic and this new spare. We have not been disappointed in any way. Our camera gets almost daily use with lots of flash and zooming activity. The PowerSmart battery has so far functioned just as well as the original Panasonic; charging, holding the charge and powering the camera through more than 200 image-recording cycles on a single charge.

I had heard others say that certian of the "off-brand" batteries that are on the market for the Panasonic FZ20 were junk. I took a chance and ordered, and I am very pleased! It seemed a little snug when it first went in the camera, but the second time it went right in just like the original, AND this one does not have the problems others have of not staying in the charger. Great Buy!!

Ah! Tricky!
I order the battery. Time passes with no shipping notification from the vendor (BargainCell). I call Amazon helpdesk. I'm assured it's all good.
Today I get the order-cancellation email, 3 days *after* the battery is supposed to arrive. Reason? "Out of stock"
Stay away from these jokers.

I too ordered one of these batteries from BargainCell because they stated it was in stock, and it was the cheapest option. I waited several weeks and it didn't arrive. Finally, I received an email from them saying they were cancelling my order because they didn't have any in stock. Because they cancelled my order I cannot leave a 1-star rating for BargainCell! I checked Amazon and BargainCell still listed the item as being in stock, and the listing remains the same today.
If you actually want your battery to arrive, buy it from Accessory Genie.
The battery I received did not fit properly in my FZ20. It went in okay, but to get it out I had to pry it out with a knife after several minutes of tapping and wiggling the battery. The problem is that the plastic on the sides was formed incorrectly and has bulges. I carefully took a utility knife and scraped off the very top layer of plastic on the sides and now the battery fits and works just fine.
