don't waste your money! [Posted on 2007-08-14] I bought this kit for my Finepix S700. I was so excited for my purshase but after I got it in my hands and took some shoots with it I understood why is so cheap. Using the Telephoto 2x2 the pictures were not focus, just a little bit in the center, they were over expose (glare - ghosting), they had color distortion, etc. I rescued just couple of them with post production (among 100 shoots).
Then after my sorprise I decided to compare new shoots with this lenses and the ones that the camera brings, the resaults were clear, this lenses (optika) are c*ap.
The only thing that I keep is the back and the tripod. Well, the wide-angle lens is just ok. as well as the filters.
After my mistake (buying this kit) I decided to study about teleconverter so
I recomend for good teleconverter (telephoto) this products:
Raynox DCR 1540PRO - Converter
Olympus TCON-1.7x Telephoto Converter Lens
I hope this could help you!
Starter Kit [Posted on 2008-02-25] Truly a start-up package. Cleaner, case, filters, adapter and tripod are adequate. Lenses leave much to be desired due to color and shape distortion.
worth the price [Posted on 2008-03-10] I have tried almost all the lenses and the stand and they are pretty nice the stand is a little wobbly but not bad. I am glad I purchased them
Give or Take [Posted on 2008-04-03] If you can find the case and large tripod separately for less money then I would recommend that. We haven't found any of the lenses/filters very usable at all. We have tried to use them a handful of times. We already had a small tripod and find them useful every now and then. The case is quite nice. It has a few pockets for accessories and is built strong.
You Get What You Pay For [Posted on 2008-05-26] I just bought this set and was very disappointed. The bag, tripod and cleaning kit are nice, the filters are o.k., but the lenses are not so good. The wideangle is ok. But there is blurring around the edges and it doesn't seem to add that much width to the photo - especially since I have to edit the blurry parts out. However, I have gotten a few nice photos with the wide-angle lense.
The telephoto lense was the biggest disappointment! There was alot of ghosting and exposure issues with this lense. And there was a perfect circle around the edge of my photos that was blurred. And on many pictures, the whole photo was out of focus and grainy. I took photos without the lense and they were much better. I've tried using the filters with it and experimenting with the apeture settings like some have suggested on other sites and still cannot get very many usuable photos with this lense.
I say save your money and purchase a more expensive lense. (I wish I had) You can get better photos straight off the camera than with these lenses.
