Decent product but a piece came broken [Posted on 2008-11-24] I like the product. A couple of drawbacks though. I don't think they can control this but it takes a while to get the satellite signal. Also the power plug for the car was broken when we opened the box which seems strange. I'd hate to think the product was a return to Amazon or Garmin and they just sent it back out to sell as new???
Saved my marriage! [Posted on 2008-11-24] We tried a similar Garmin in a rental car while going from Phoenix to Yuma, Ariz. We both agreed that it made the trip much easier and so we decided to purchase a GPS. This model is all that we need or want. It has recently taken us from Seatac airport to Port Townsend without any problems and then on a tour of that area. The bluetooth capability is necessary and useful. We recommend this item.
Great product, great price [Posted on 2008-11-24] After reviewing several makes and models, I'm more than satisfied I chose the Garmin nuvi660. Accurate, easy to understand directions, and quick updates(which worried me from some of the other brands I checked out). Thank you!
Wow... I hope you don't live in Chicago [Posted on 2008-11-25] I purchased this GPS on 8/14/2008. This is aproximately 9 months after I355 opened in the Chicago. This is a major 8 lane 15 mile stretch of highway that is not in the GPS. My inlaws bought a Nuvi 200 before we did and their maps included this road.
I bought this unit 3 days before Garmin's new map garauntee program started. I had to pay $70 to update the map JUST TO GET THIS ONE ROAD!
I feel very ripped off. Amazon was evidently selling off old stock. And Garmin does not appear to care about its customers to make sure merchants are keeping their maps updated.
Not having this route is a major pain in the but, since everytime we go south out of town, it tries to take us on surface streets. Crazy. When I am driving on the I355, it annoyingly tries to tell us to turn on every road we go over.
Otherwise this GPS functions ok. I like the feature that speaks the names of the road you are about to turn on, instead of just telling you to take a right. This is very good when there are several streets within a couple tenths of a mile.
I am giving this product 2 stars for poor customer support.
pretty good gps [Posted on 2008-11-26] Great product, meet's expectations. Only problem was that the bluetooth was not compatible with my blackberry 8320. The connection kept dropping.
