Great GPS at a great price! [Posted on 2009-01-01] I'd give it 5 stars if not for a couple of little things. For basic GPS functionality, I've been extremely pleased. It's very accurate, and the routing has been very good. The only downsides to it are the start-up time and the Bluetooth call quality. It takes quite a while for the unit to start up and display maps compared to other GPSs I've used. It's not a huge deal, but it is an annoyance. More important to me, the call quality while using the bluetooth speakerphone is mediocre at best. This was one of the features that drew me to this unit, so it's a bit of a disappointment. However, I'm very pleased with the unit overall, and don't think you'll go wrong with it.
nuvi 760 navigator [Posted on 2009-01-02] Before i purchased the nuvi 760 I had actually planned on purchasing a different item, but after reading the reviews on the 760 obviously i changed my mind. I am glad I did with no regrets. It is everything as promised. I have used it continually and found all the features were outstanding and acurrate.

Great Navigation - Medicore build quality [Posted on 2009-01-03] I purchased this unit to replace my Garmin C320 which I've had for years and has served me well. Unfortunately the build quality of this unit is much lower of the C320 and the software on mine was defective so it's been returned.
- The speaker on this unit is extremely quiet at 100% and crackles / rattles, difficult to hear when on the highway and load roads
- The bluetooth is tricky to configure with my Samsung phone but worked well once setup
- The software on mine hung every other time during Loading Maps when I turned it on even after upgrade
The software on the unit (when it would boot) was excellent and easy to use as my C320. The sat lock time is greatly improved with this unit over my previous unit. The speaker is horrible on this unit, which made is fairly useless as a speakerphone on the road and difficult to hear the navigation when on the highway.
Great navigator even if a little slow sometimes [Posted on 2009-01-03] I bought this in November when it was about $250 and have used it almost every day since. I was torn between this model and the 750 but went with this one because of the included traffic tuner and the bluetooth phone capabilities.
My phone was not one of those listed on the Garmin website but it connected immediately when I first tried to sync them. Although it can be a little difficult to hear while driving, the phone feature is great. The unit syncs automatically so when the phone rings all I have to do is push one button instead of trying to fish my phone out of my bag.
The traffic feature is also wonderful but it can be a little slow to update sometimes. There have been quite a few times when I've driven to work, sitting in traffic, and the navigator said there were no delays. A few times I've also passed the site of the slow-down but the Garmin didn't update and still showed a 20 minute delay. It still gives the directions though so it's ok. Check your area to see if it will receive the traffic updates. I live about 45 miles north of San Francisco and lose the traffic signal about 10 miles from home.
When turned on the unit generally starts up quickly. Sometimes it can take awhile to find a satellite but, for me, that's not a big deal. As others have said, the FM tuner is fairly weak and it can be hard to find an empty signal but once you do the sound is loud and clear!
All in all, if you are looking for a navigation system with extra perks and consistent maps the Garmin 760 is a great model to choose.
