I had an adapter for about 9 months before it started to lose (moving it at certain angles would interfere with the signal, so playback would go from really quiet to well, quiet.). I bought this as a replacement and it was not worth it all. Within a day any movement would interfere with the signal passing through. Not even touching it results in varied signal strength.
You get what you pay for. Don't get this.

Works as advertised allowing any brand of headphones or earbuds (i.e. with the standard 3.5mm size stereo jack frequently called a 1/8" stereo jack) to be connected to the Apple iPhone first version (1G). Delivered on time.

no good at all. it's wired incorrectly, so stereo sound is improperly phased. avoid at all costs.

Although it is absolutely disgusting that you should need to buy anything like this in the first place - Apple should be ashamed - this adaptor does the job perfectly. I can now watch movies on my iphone during longhaul flights and use my excellent noise-cancelling Bose headphones.

I have a Belkin adapter that is hard rubber and not flexible at all which pulls out of my phone every time I put it in my pocket. This adapter however has a small jack with a flexible cord about 4" long so it doesn't become an antenna like extension off your phone. A great buy and the price is just right.
