Fun to use this camera [Posted on 2007-05-13] I haven't used a camcorder for quite a while. I wanted to capture some of my granddaughter's finer moments. This camera is light and convenient to use. It was easy to pick it up and start using with minimal setup. I'm really glad I bought this camcorder.
Did what it said [Posted on 2007-05-13] Pretty easy to use. Picture quality OK but not excellent. But does not get too much worse in low light. Also suggestions in other reviews helped me set it up.
JVC Everio GZMG57 DIGITEL MEDIA CAMCORDER [Posted on 2007-05-15] With the camera recording and I turn my body I get a jerking motion on the play back. The biggest complaint I have is the lack of instructions that can be understood on how to do THINGS. Yes, I see a phone number. I can call and I have done this. When you get someone to help you which might be a long wait. They are very polite and explain so I can understand. Why can't they write instructions that can be understood in the first place. JVC is not alone on this subject
Decent for Windows, not as good for Macs [Posted on 2007-06-06] I work in a Mac school, and it is a pain to bring the videos in to the included software, and then convert them so I can alter them in iMovie.
Besides that, the camera is excellent, good harddrive (i got the 30G version) and the transfers are amazingly fast.
The drop protection has also already saved us.
HD is versatile, but sometimes not the best [Posted on 2008-09-15] Being able to record 8 hours at a time is great. The only drawback to the hard drive type of recording is that a new file is created each time. The positive to that is that it makes for ease of transfer. You can record to DVD with the software they include and it's very easy. The battery life is awful, so get an extended or extra battery.
