May not be the charger you really need! [Posted on 2007-08-24] Just a warning! I ordered this product to charge Kodak KLIC-8000 Li-Ion 1600 mHh batteries. From viewing the Kodak site, this was the charger that was recommended as an 'accessory' for the camera/batteries I ordered. The charger did not work for the above-mentioned batteries. After contacting Kodak and explaining the situation, they said that there is an earlier and later version of the charger (no name change)----and that the more recent one was compatable with the KLIC-8000 Li-Ion batteries. They said that you need to 'know' which one you are getting for the battery type you have. Uh. . .I had to send back the charger and pay the shipping---wondering how I was going to find what I needed. Kodak at the time did not offer the charger from their 'online store'---but customer service did refer us to another Kodak site specific to 'Easyshare' products from where I could order the 'newer' version of the charger. All is good now. The charger itself seems like a fair product---I guess the '1 star' seems harsh----it more or less reviews the frustration in the product not being what was expected. . .
Great Universal battery charger! [Posted on 2007-09-11] I purchased this charger when it first came out can't remember the year, but I was actually on the pre-order list at Kodak.com... Anyway, I absolutely love this charger and use it often. I find it charges the batteries quite quickly, 90 minutes for a full charge. I have been using it now for over 2 years in both the US and UK, and have never had a problem.
The batteries are also easy to insert into the charger: slide charger holder down, and place the gold contacts of the battery to the chargers pins, and release charger holder - simple. The only thing I had difficulty with was with the foldable wall plug. I too used a screwdriver the first time, but afterwards realized I was just opening it wrong. Once I learned how to open it, I've had no further problems. Love this item, would definitely buy again!
not as described [Posted on 2007-11-05] I brought a Kodak K7500c charger kit from PCLINE, but what I got is just a Kodak K7500C charger, without any plug-ins. I am cheated!
Horrible =( [Posted on 2007-12-08] They sent me the wrong item, apparently in the correct packaging, and I was told I couldn't return it, so I was ripped off.
great item to have! [Posted on 2008-04-07] I've begun to travel more in recent years, and being a photo buff (but by no means a photography expert...I just love taking pics of places I've been) I needed a charger that would adapt to the outlet of whatever country I was visiting. So far, I've taken the charger on 2 trips; New York and Great Britain. The only complaints I would have are related to the actual set up of the charger. The adaptors can be kind of awkward to insert...you have to get them just right in order to "click them in." I don't consider that a hindrance to the product, just my clumsiness. Secondly, you do have to be very careful and observant how you insert the battery into the charger. You have to make sure you get the battery in just right so that the blinking, charging lights come on. A couple of nights I was so tired from sight seeing all day that I didn't pay attention to ensuring I had the battery inserted just right, and the battery didn't charge and I didn't discover that fact until later. For example, right in the middle of sight seeing on the Isle of Skye in Scotland, my battery died. Thankfully, by a stroke of luck, I found the one small store on the whole island that sold disposable cameras. What a shame that would have been, to be on a beautiful island such as that, but couldn't take any pictures! That being said, I just have to take a few extra seconds each time to ensure I've inserted the battery correctly.
