It takes a little time to learn how to correctly place the reflector and which side to use under which conditions, but after you have that down and learn how to correctly collapse it after you are done, it works very well. I use it mainly for portrait work to fill in shadows and also with macro subjects to reduce the harsh shadows and add some extra pop. Every photographer should have at least one reflector and one diffuser for manipulating light when needed.
