Monkey See Monkey Do [Posted on 2008-12-12] Love Logitech...I must coordinate...stylin' profilin' my accessories! Buy this product...(Quiet...don't tell them that I own all of the damn stock!)
Recommended! [Posted on 2008-12-16] Even better than I expected. Bought it because it was the only 10-key, wireless or wired, that I found with a "tab" key. But the keys for immediate access to the calculator function and MS Excel are handy too. And of course no wires to get tangled up.
Good, not great. [Posted on 2008-12-21] I do a lot of work with numbers, so I like to have a 10-key pad. In this day and age, I prefer not to have cords. I really like this item, but, it has its quirks. There are questionable choices for selection of added keys. I would have preferred software selectable function keys. Synchronization isn't always as simple as it should. I don't usually synch my mice, but this keypad usually requires manually synch between the pad and USB dongle. Also, when you get them synched, there is no acknowledgement of the event. To be fair, though, once synched, I have never experienced a loss of signal between the two until, I shut them down. I don't mind that the dongle is quite large, but, it should turn off the keypad when it's inserted to the storage slot. Still, this item is solid. It's not cheaply built. It is sure footed and doesn't move around with use. The problem is that Logitech designed this item. I love their mice designs for continually adding features that people actually use. Their name derives from the two words, logic and technology. Unlike their mice or even their keyboards, this item lacks simplicity through logic that you come to expect from them.
Top of the line and worth the money. [Posted on 2008-12-26] When you first get this number pad after using others you realize that this is different, better, it is quality.
You know the type, you can't get into it unless you break a nail, your scissors and a friend's jacknife. The packaging the Logitech number pad comes in is a perferated platic peg hanger. You simply bend the pastic and it opens like a clamshell.
Lifting this business tool for the first time it has the feel of solid well built made to last construction.
After installing the 2 AAA batteries that come in the package you are good to go. All of the XP systems that we hooked up with all found the device to be plug and play. Just puch the connect buttons and you are ready to fly. Quick launch buttons on the top of the pad make going between applications a breeze. The larger than usual number makes accuracy in the mobile business environment much easier. This pad is better that the pad that comes standard on a desktop keyboard.
A note about Amazon. The first Logitech number pad was defective, it would not sync or or stay connected if it did sync. Reading the amount of positive reviews We decided to try again. Amazon sent a replacement Logitech number pad before they received the defective one back. If it had been the only number pad we had there would have been only two days of down time. Amazon is great! I suggest always having two just in case. Now the 2 should be Logitech Cordless Number Pad.
Works Great! [Posted on 2008-12-30] This product is a great alternative for people who do plenty of number crunching on a laptop!
