Fun and funky little camera [Posted on 2008-05-06] This camera is pretty fun to play with. I guess I had different expectations for how the the pictures would come out. But once I knew what to expect I had a lot of fun with it! When you get your prints back, the image is in a black circle. And if you're not careful, your feet may end up in the shot because of the lens being so wide! Also I got a few shots with the lens cap dangling in the way. So be mindful of your lens cap and your feet and just go to town!
Fishie [Posted on 2008-05-14] This camera is really easy to use -- once you get the hang of it. I suggest getting a cheap role of film to shoot some test shots before doing anything serious. Also, it works best outside. Clearly this isn't a primary camera but it's nice to have in your camera bag for a more unusual or artsy shot.
Vibrant and Fun [Posted on 2008-07-01] I've had this camera for about a year now, having forgotten to review it when I first received it, and I love it. The colors are surprisingly vibrant, more so than I had expected, and the camera has a nice feel to it. Because this is a fisheye camera, I find that I've stopped using the viewfinder. I just point the camera at my intended subject and shoot. Part of the fun is in not know exactly how your picture will turn out, and usually it turns out great.
This camera works best in bright, natural lighting. I used it while flying kites with friends and loved the results. Inside, the pictures tend to turn out dark without the flash, or white washed with the flash, as the flash tends to be too strong.
This camera isn't perfect, which it the point. You have to expect and embrace the imperfections, otherwise this camera will drive you crazy. But for those looking for something fun and different, I fully recommend the Lomo Fisheye.
pretty good camrea [Posted on 2008-09-30] well i have to say this camera is great it has its and good and bad but beside that it a pretty neat camera to mess around with wish it came with a usb connector but buying film isn't bad
Best Forty Bucks You'll Ever Spend On A Camera [Posted on 2008-12-18] They have fancier models but this cheapo plastic junk with no frills is the most fun for the money. Many of us have all the super equipment with every bell and whistle known to man, so having zero control and no frills is way freeing.
Winding and rewinding the film with those little plastic wheels is sooooo retro! (i confess that i had my hr developer scan the film even though i have a Nikon coolscal IV) Can't wait to shoot s'more with this gem!!!
Just fun.
