UV light bulb [Posted on 2008-09-20] I agree with the reviews. The product is just a gadget. Bought a new UV unit to find that the light bulb does not work and phillis web site has no mention on where to get a replacement.
In addition Phillips warranty does not cover the light bulb.....nice to find out after reading the fine print. X@*#!!
Philips Sonicare UV Sanitizer [Posted on 2008-09-21] Philips Sonicare UV Sanitizer
I like this alot. Would tell other people to buy one for there house too.
A necessary tool in the fight against infection [Posted on 2008-10-11] While some folks may think this product is frivolous and unnecessary, it is a real bonus in many situations. I am recovering from a stem cell transplant for acute leukemia - my immune system is suppressed and immature. Tools such as the Sonicare UV Sanitizer are a great addition to my arsenal in defense against rogue bacteria. Humans have an incredible amount of germs present both internally and on our skin. We are our own worst enemies when it comes to the spread of infection. Ensuring that something we place inside our mouths is 99% sanitary just makes good common sense. Not to mention that this was recommended by my dentist who has been in practice for over 30 years. I can't wait to begin using the product!
ordering a new bulb [Posted on 2008-11-13] First let me start off by saying that the product itself is fine. I don't know if anyone else tried to order a new bulb from Philips, but let me tell you that it's not the simplest task. I looked on their website to order one, but it was nowhere to be found. I then sent an email to their customer support people and promptly got a reply with a phone number to call to order. After calling that number, I was put on hold for a while then told that I need to call the manufacturer directly to order a bulb. I called the new number and spoke to someone who also put me on hold. She said I selected the wrong option in the menu and needed to call back and select "other."
So after all this, I finally spoke to the right person who had me reinstall the bulb to make sure it wasn't working. She then got my contact info and shipped out the new bulb free of charge. Philips could have made the process less annoying, but hey, free bulb.
Excellent product [Posted on 2008-11-17] Such an easy product to use. My husband and I are already in the habit of pushing the button right after both of us have brushed our teeth. Very economical and we feel confident that our brushes are sanitized.
