PCMCIA Compact Flash adapter [Posted on 2008-04-21]
I bought this adapter to allow a Compact Flash card to interface with the stereo head unit in my car. It works very well. Fits the slot perfectly, no misalignment of pins, A+++

Warning: 16-bit adapter cards are OLD TECHNOLOGY! Stick with 32-bit [Posted on 2008-04-26]
I don't know why these types of cards are still on the market--they are old, slow, and obsolete. Instead, search for 32-bit Cardbus adapters such as the ones made by Viking, Delkin, or Lexar, which are many times faster but not much more expensive. And, they fit in the same PC card slot on most laptops made in the last decade. The 32-bit cards I have used are even a bit faster than USB 2.0 and Firewire.

You can spot 32-bit cards by the gold strip at the top of the card. No gold strip? Then prepare to wait an hour or more for your data to transfer, while your laptop is brought to its knees. The old silver cards may be fine for storing and playing mp3s, or may be needed for laptops made more than 10 years ago, but any large amount of data--such as GBs of photos or video-- will take quite a while to copy over. Why would you want a reader that is SLOWER than your flash media?

SanDisk SDAD-38-A10 CF to PC Card Adapter  [Posted on 2008-10-21]
The SanDisk SDAD-38-A10 CF to PC Card Adapter is very nice, works perfectly for playing my compact flash cards in my new Honda Civic SI. Really works great, not cheap at all, feels substantial. Easy to remove memory. I did purchase this unit just for playing compact flash cards in my New Honda Civic SI. I also purchase some 2 gig compact flash cards and they also work just fine in the car. Great Unit. Don't purchase cheaper units as I have heard they may have problems. When loading MP3s on your cards, be sure to play around with editing names of songs and also names of the folders, so you will learn what the display looks like when you do, I ended up changing things around quite a bit and kept changing them until I liked the display of the name of the band, the name of the song, etc. Kind of a pain in the beginning, but, if you hang in there it will look what you want in the display on the Honda radio. Recommend this unit, works just perfect.

exactly what i needed [Posted on 2008-11-03]
I bought the product so I could put a compactflash memory chip in it and plug it into the audio system that is part of my Honda Civic Navigation system. It is exactly what I needed & it works perfectly.

Purchased for use im my Gen8 Civic. [Posted on 2008-11-09]
I purchased this for use in my 2006 Civic EX with Sat-Nav. Over all I am impressed with the quality of this product. It works great and fits into the PC Card slot in the car perfectly. The quality of the sound is excellent and it is awesome to not have 70 CD's cluttering my car. The only downfall to this product is that transfering 8GB worth of music onto a CF Card takes a rediculous amount of time Up to 9+ hours I did a lot of research on how to play the PC cards in Honda's with Sat-Nav and have found out a lot.

Before buying make sure you have a way to transfer music onto a CF Card. Many new computers come with Express card slots which do not fit PC Cards so make sure you have a PC Card reader or a CF card reader. (many photo printers accept CF cards)

Next You probably could get by with a 6GB card since the Honda Sat-Nav system will only read up to 99 folders and 999 Tracks. (if you exceed the 999 tracks. Don't worry it just won't display any above the 999)

Make sure the Tracks are named correctly. tracks names that look like.."Shake_It_Created by Digital_wizard.com" << will show up on the LCD in the car just how it is typed. So clean up the track names. so it looks more like "Shake It" (just much easier to read and use while driving) Also organize the albums into folders. Have the main folder be the artist and then inside that have each individual album.

When inserted into the car it may take up to a minute to read all the tracks on the card before playing.

Hope this helps.
