No Problems with XP [Posted on 2002-01-08]
Not giving this five stars merely on the premise that if some people are struggling with it, then it can't be that easy. Despite all the negative reviews, and information to the contrary, I am currently running this device with NO PROBLEMS on Windows XP. The SanDisk site specifies they will not support XP with this product, and suggest a 3rd Party Device Driver. I couldn't get this to work however. My method was simple. Plug in the device before you insert the cd. XP will eventually ask for a driver. Point it towards the 2000 driver on the supplied CD. Do not install the program supplied on the CD. XP will complain that the driver is not signed compliant with XP. Ignore it. It works. It's a simple as that. Some people may be having conflict problems with other USB devices. I cannot account for that. All I can say is, it works on XP. I am happy. Like I said at the start, only 4 stars. Would be 5 if it wasn't for other people struggling.
Worked great on Mac OS 9, now what about Mac OS X???? [Posted on 2002-01-08]
I have used this device for the past year with my digital camera, and it worked great. Slide the memory card in and up pops the disk on my desktop. Copy the images, and you're done! But so far under Mac OS X, there seems to be no such support! Help SanDisk! iPhoto from Apple is so cool and I want it to work with my card reader!
Stability is totally unpredictable [Posted on 2002-01-25]
I have over a year of frustrating experience with this product running under WinME. The thing constantly locks up. The only way I can get it to be even slightly stable is to reboot between reading cards. Otherwise the system locks up whenever going from one card to the next. Horrible drivers. My experience with it on Win2000 was too short to be sure, but having to live with this product has been bad enough. I hardly use it now, but I'm disappointed to see that I'll likely have to throw it away when I go to WinXP. No matter, it's barely worked anyway.
No XP Drivers Available [Posted on 2002-03-11]
I switched from Windows 98 to XP - now am unable to use my San Disk Reader. I checked their web site but no XP drivers yet. Other than this, I was extremely satisfied with the Reader.

This unit works great. I have never had any problems with it. Now, I would not be without it. The transfer rate is fast, as advertised, and this device is easy to use. I love it.
