Met My Expectations [Posted on 2008-10-15] I bought this for my Canon HG10 High Definition Camcorder and it works exactly as a Mini-HDMI to HDMI cable should. I picked this cable over other brands because it is reasonably priced.
Does not work with Canon HF100 [Posted on 2008-10-31] This cable does not work with my Canon HF100. Ordered the Tripp Lite cable but showed up as apogee HDMI Mini Cable v1.3b 6FT-HDMI6FTC. Cutting my losses and ordering the Canon cable as I know it will work. Looking at the apogee website there is a footnote saying it will not work with some AVCHD camcorders and the HF100 is listed. Wish I knew I was getting an apogee cable so I could have seen this. The Tripp Lite website does not list any of these limitations.
Does not work with HDR-SR12! Don't buy it! [Posted on 2008-11-16] I read all the comments before ordering it (to use with my hdr-sr12) and thought there might be a problem specifically using it with canon camcorders. I noticed more +ive reviews than -ive and decided to order it. I just got it in mail today; tried it and it didn't work! Actually, it worked only when I tilted my camcorder. If I placed the camcorder on a flat surface, I didn't get voice or video. I will most likely return it and get a descent one.
Tripp Lite Mini-HDMI cable 6 feet [Posted on 2008-11-17] The cable didn't work for me and I let a friend who had a working one
check it on his system and it did not work for hiom either. I haven't found my receipt yet to try to send it back.
Quality Control Is Poor [Posted on 2008-11-21] I bought the Canon HF-10 a week ago - it is a great camcorder. I also bought this Trip Lite Mini-HDMI to HDMI cable. When the items arrived, I tested the camera and was very happy. I then tried to play videos over mu Sony 52" HDTV through the HDMI port with this cable. It did not work at all. I began to worry about whether it was the cable or the HF-10 HDMI port. The component cable supplied by Canon worked great on HDTV in 1080i but not the HDMI. Finally, after a lot of investigation (several hours) I had my wife buy a SONY cable (about $40). It worked superbly! It appears to me that the quality control on these Tripp Lite cables is very poor. Reading the review you see that a lot arrived and did not work. I think Amazon should withdraw this item. I know that cables are a high profit item for electronics vendors. You can get them cheaper on e-bay if you shop around. Going for the Tripp Lite version cost me waste a lot of time. The HF-10 camera surely is great!
