Not Fully Compatible with SONY cameras [Posted on 2008-04-20] I bought this battery for a Sony digital camera DSC-V1. This battery is not the same as the SONY version; it is a cheaper Chinese battery. Sure, it fits into the camera, but there are a few problems with it that should prevent you from purchasing it.
1) This battery does not cooperate with the Sony recharge settings. Usually, the battery is placed in the camera, the camera is plugged up, and the battery starts charging. A yellow light appears on the camera to show that the battery is charging, and it goes off when it is fully charged. Not so with this cheap Chinese battery. The yellow light will stay on forever.
2) Removing the battery requires a knife. You will not be able to use your battery eject button. You need to wedge a small object into the camera and work the battery out physically.
3) The time the battery holds a charge seems random. Sometimes you can take four or five flashed photographs and the charge leaves completely. Other times, it seems to last much longer.
Do yourself a favor and pay a little more for the Sony version.
