Bright, but Breakable [Posted on 2006-11-15] I hold the Verilux brand in high regard as I have purchased and been pleased with their full-spectrum bulbs, lamps, and the popular "Happy Light", which I recommend. However, when I purchased this Verilux Book and Travel Light I found the quality to fall a bit short. It's a cute little item, handy, and very bright on the "high" setting, but I found that the unnecessary "medium" setting functions best as a night light. It requires frequent AA battery changes-once every 1-2 days, but does come with a recharging cord for a computer[like an i-pod has].
It wasn't quite as convenient as I'd hoped. Also with my daily use, the button that slides between medium and high has now broken, rendering it useless, so it has been more of a disposable light for me.
Verilux Book light [Posted on 2007-12-21] This is a nice, white light. My only complaint is that, when using it on a thick book, it is not high enough to illuminate the entire page
Poor Brightness, but Cute [Posted on 2007-12-30] I purchased the Verilux book light based on previous customer reviews, but it did not performance did not match the reviews. I wanted to read in bed, yet the brightness is not adequite without additional background light which is what I was trying to avoid. On ther plus side, it is a great night light.
Verilux Book Light [Posted on 2008-05-14] This is a great little book light for Night Owls who don't want to disturb their partner. However, the batteries have a really short life. My 1st set last just under a week.
This thing is just not worth the money! [Posted on 2008-10-06] When you take a look at the picture, it looks pretty neat, but the truth is that the light is poor, it EATS batteries, and it is really cheaply made. Actually, I saw this exact same product without the Verilux logo being closed out at a major bookseller's retail store for $1.99!!
